Poppet AElfwynn's New Cradle

The new cradle is very nice , thought Poppet AElfwynn , but a little hard and not  warm enough during this horrible cold , wet , stormy weather .

So she took out her sewing things . Her scissors , needle and thread and began
making some nice comfy pillows .

                       She is using shredded rags to stuff the pillows with .

         She stuffed them well down into the corners . Nice and plump !

                                Then stitched them up with back stitch .

                              Then she made a lovely comfy mattress .

The storm raged outside , the wind blew and rattled the windows .
    It rained hard , with hailstones loud on the roof !
   Poppet AElfwynn wondered about all the birds and wild creatures that live outside and hoped they will find shelter in the bushes and down in their burrows and nests.

      She warmed up the new comfy mattress with her bed-warming pan .

          She could still do with a nightgown and a woollen blanket but .....                   
 

                    Poppet AElfwynn was cosy and warm in her new cradle .
