Lucky Red Fish

 So as you already know , I was getting mighty fed up with my fishy embroidery . I had  been stitching in poor light and on reflection decided that I didn't like the pink colour .....ugh...horrible salmon pink !

I decided to throw in some bright colour to make it exciting again .....and I pulled out the brightest and cheeriest red that I could find .

I also thought I might throw lots of gold and beads and sparkly things at it ! 

 But along came Christmas and the New Year celebrations and I just had no quiet time to myself ...and usually I carry my embroidery work along with me , everywhere I go , in my basket and to carry all these beads and gold threads was just impossible !

But also in my mind I feel that sewing on beads and gold threads  is , for me , a big cheat . I have not made my mind up yet . 

The red crewel wool however , is just the perfect fireworks ! 

I have just discovered that Red Sea Bream is a lucky fish for the Japanese  and especially for the New Year celebrations . 

I think that red fish are also lucky for the Chinese  .
