Embroidered Calendar Wheel -March - St Mellanus Church - Clypping and Mothering Sunday - part two

So it was a lovely sunny day and lots of people came to join in . I am glad I made a record of it ,  as it was the first time for our Church St Mellanus of Mullion to do the "Clypping" of the Church .

I was hoping someone might have shared some photos , but I haven't seen any  .

                   Delicious Simnel Cake .

It was a gorgeous warm sunny day . A joyful Mothering Sunday .  A rope was passed all around the church for us to hold on to and be evenly and safely spaced out . Hopefully next year this will grow and more folk will come ...and the Bell Ringers will be back . It would be lovely to have a peel of bells too !

My friend says they desperately need more people to come and learn Bell Ringing here ...they are down to only two people . This is so sad !

After we had  encircled the church facing inward we sung and prayed for the church ,then facing out we  sung and prayed for the village , and then sung and prayed for PEACE  .

Simnel Cake was shared out . I took mine home to share with my lovely boy ....he got the marzipan topping ! It was delicious !

Then there was the Mothering Sunday Service , I could not stay for that ,but I came back later in the evening with my camera to take photos of all the beautiful Sunflower painted pebbles around the Church Prayer Tree .

A lovely sunset at the end of the perfect Mothering Sunday .

                         Under the Prayer Tree .

Everybody's Sunflower painted pebbles .

It was quite moving .
