Introducing Ælfwynn Anglo Saxon . .... a small , old cloth doll who loves needlework .
Ælfwynn has been watching the Swallows gathering up in the sky . Any day now they will be leaving on their long journey to South Africa .
They will return next Spring time , around about April or May .
Ælfwynn is doing a little Swallow embroidery with crewel wool on a scrap of linen .
She is using stem stitch for the outline .
She is filling in the colours with Bayeux Stitch .
It is very easy .Look further back in my blog journal and you can find how to do it look up the title -
